THE OVEN (Kid Mohair/Silk)

THE OVEN (Kid Mohair/Silk)
Red, blackened brown, cream, old gold, rust, and smoke.
This one is the most openly dramatic of the collection. Fiery in places, nearly black in others, with little streaks of pale gold flashing through.
Held over a solid, The Oven doesn’t create one uniform new color. Instead, the shades surface and disappear as you knit, leaving little interruptions of warmth, darkness, and light.
BASE
72% kid mohair / 28% mulberry silk

ABOUT HAND-DYED YARN
Each skein is dyed by hand in very small batches, so variation between skeins is part of the process. Even skeins dyed together may differ slightly in depth or placement of color. For larger projects, alternating skeins every couple of rows can help blend those natural variations.
After dyeing, yarn is thoroughly rinsed, given a final soak with wool wash, spun out, and air-dried in my studio. Some residual dye release can occasionally occur, particularly with darker or more saturated colors.
CARE
Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool-safe wash. Avoid agitation and sudden temperature changes. Lay flat to dry.
