Naturalist Field Guide | Polwarth DK

Naturalist Field Guide | Polwarth DK
Dyed on 100% superwash Polwarth DK, this portion of the Naturalist Field Guide collection moves into a softer, more atmospheric register of the palette. These shades feel a little misted, a little weathered, and slightly more luminous on this base, moving through tide-washed blue green, mossed olive, pale fog grey, peach-stone warmth, bramble pink, and tawny brown.
Polwarth has a smooth, springy hand and a soft glow that takes dye beautifully, giving these colors a refined, easy kind of richness. This is a lovely base for garments and accessories that want warmth, polish, and beautiful stitch definition without losing softness. Choose your preferred colorway from the variant list below.
Base: 100% superwash Polwarth
Weight: DK
Yardage: Approx. 246 yards / 225 m per 100g hank
Note:
After dyeing, all skeins are thoroughly rinsed and soaked in tepid water with lanolin-enriched Eucalan wool wash. They’re then spun in an industrial spin dryer to remove excess water before air-drying naturally in the Fiber for the People® dye studio.
Hand-dyed yarn naturally varies—both between dye lots and within the same lot. This is part of its charm. Please refer closely to the photos in this listing for the most accurate representation of how the colorway appears on this base.
Minor variation between skeins is expected. Any skeins that fall noticeably outside the standard for this colorway will be listed separately as Misfits.
Colorways vary significantly across bases due to differences in ply, fiber content, and whether the yarn is Superwash-treated. Non-Superwash bases tend to produce softer, more blended results—speckles become watercolor-like, and variegation appears more subtle.
Care: Hand-wash in cool water with gentle wool wash. Always air dry.
