WOODSMOKE (Kid Mohair/Silk)

WOODSMOKE (Kid Mohair/Silk)
Smoky black-brown, old rose, burgundy, cream, moss, muted gold, and flashes of lavender.
Woodsmoke is deliberately subdued. The colors drift in and out rather than shouting for attention, which makes it especially good for layering over a solid when you want movement and complexity without completely changing the character of the yarn underneath.
BASE
72% kid mohair / 28% mulberry silk
Lace weight
459 yards / 50 grams
ABOUT HAND-DYED YARN
Each skein is dyed by hand in very small batches, so variation between skeins is part of the process. Even skeins dyed together may differ slightly in depth or placement of color. For larger projects, alternating skeins every couple of rows can help blend those natural variations.
After dyeing, yarn is thoroughly rinsed, given a final soak with wool wash, spun out, and air-dried in my studio. Some residual dye release can occasionally occur, particularly with darker or more saturated colors.
CARE
Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool-safe wash. Avoid agitation and sudden temperature changes. Lay flat to dry.
