Adobe Root (sun-baked clay) RANGE AND VALLEY COLLECTION

Adobe Root (sun-baked clay) RANGE AND VALLEY COLLECTION
A warm, earthen brown with golden undertones, like the walls of an ancient pueblo catching late afternoon light. Solid, timeless, and grounding.
Pairs well with:
Ochre Bend (layered warmth, sandstone on clay)
Sunflare (bright canyon light against earth)
Deepwater (anchored by cool depth)
Yarn Details:
100% Nevada-born and shorn Merino/Rambouillet
Sport/Light DK – 2-ply – 340 yards / 100 grams
Sourced from the Dufurrena family’s Merino/Rambouillet flock, raised in the mountains and foothills of Northern Nevada. The Dufurrenas continue the Basque tradition of sheep ranching, producing exceptional fleece.
Milled at Mountain Meadow Wool, a family-run mill in Buffalo, Wyoming. This collaboration between Fiber for the People®, Lovely Valley Wool, and the Dufurrena Sheep Company brings you a truly regionally sourced, Nevada-grown, American-milled yarn.
Note:
After dyeing, all skeins are thoroughly rinsed and soaked in tepid water with lanolin-enriched Eucalan wool wash. They’re then spun in an industrial spin dryer to remove excess water before air-drying naturally in the Fiber for the People® dye studio.
Hand-dyed yarn naturally varies—both between dye lots and within the same lot. This is part of its charm. Please refer closely to the photos in this listing for the most accurate representation of how the colorway appears on this base.
Minor variation between skeins is expected. Any skeins that fall noticeably outside the standard for this colorway will be listed separately as Misfits.
Colorways vary significantly across bases due to differences in ply, fiber content, and whether the yarn is Superwash-treated. Non-Superwash bases tend to produce softer, more blended results—speckles become watercolor-like, and variegation appears more subtle.
Care: Hand-wash in cool water with gentle wool wash. Always air dry.
